Need to Know Part 4: About Church

Kalamazoo Community Church Message by Todd Gallahar. June 5, 2011 www.mykcc.org

Handout:

The Churches mission is to creatively demonstrate God’s love by…
…seeking God through:
1.     ___________________ church membership.
Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy, however, is not for unbelievers but for believers.  So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and inquirers or unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind? But if an unbeliever or an inquirer comes in while everyone is prophesying, they are convicted of sin and are brought under judgment by all,  as the secrets of their hearts are laid bare. So they will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, “God is really among you!”  -I Corinthians 14:22-25

2.      _____________ and _______________.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  -Matthew 28:19-20

…loving others through:
1.      Spirit ____________.
Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. –Ephesians 4:3-6

2.      ____________________________________.
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ –Matthew 22:37-39

…spreading the word through:
1.      Qualified ____________________.
In those days when the number of disciples was increasing, the Hellenistic Jews among them complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food. 2 So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, “It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables. 3 Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them 4 and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word. –Acts 6:1-4

2.      _____________________________ and worship.
From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” –Matthew 4:17

Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
 Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs. -Psalm 100:1-2

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. –I Timothy 3:16-17

3.      _____________________.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. -Acts 1:8

Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it.  -1 Peter 3:15
